The fine print will always provide you with all the details you require. Be aware that some low rates are only available over a specific loan term, with a hefty deposit to be paid up front. The loan term may be over a very short period of time, which can make the average monthly repayments still quite high. In most cases, a slightly higher interest rate with a longer loan term period may in fact be cheaper each month in the repayment.

These low rate deals on offer may only exist on new vehicles or to specific models that are on run out or on slow selling models. The most common is that the rate is only applicable to business owners not your every day consumer. Some customers simply don’t qualify for such a low rate due to past CRA issues or being a general risk to the lender.

A good indicator as to whether you’re getting a “good” deal is to consider the comparative interest rate on offer. This includes additional fees & charges that may apply ie set up fees, account keeping fees and administration charges. Some finance packages do not include all fees & charges and these are required to be paid upfront which can be in the thousands.

Consider what the total monthly/weekly repayment on offer will be. This is the amount you will be committed to for the duration of the loan term. If these repayments are within your budget, then that is the best indicator as to whether the deal is right for you. Read all fine print before committing to any “great” deal & seek professional advise if need be.

The day was blessed with  gorgeous sunshine and with the fabulous auction held later that evening, an estimated $30-35K  was raised.
