A great night was had by all the The Westin, Sydney last Saturday where we attended as finalists in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards 2016. We were nominated in the Professional Services Category and Mhairi was nominated as a finalist in the prestigious Business Entrepreneur category.
While we didn't win a trophy on the night, we still felt like winners as we sat among the 1000 other attendees and made new friends and acquaintances. It was great to meet Ian and Alex Robinson from Robinson Sewell Partners in Wagga Wagga. They are finance brokers too and there was a lot of industry chat and information sharing going on!
Our table, left to right: Ian Robinson, Mhairi, Kirsty, Gareth Woodham, Alex Robinson, Meg Alderton and Sue.
Congratulations to Matt and Meg Alderton from Alderton Enterprises who took home the trophy for Business Services. Congratulations also to Barmco Mana Partnership who pipped us in the Professional Services category and Jennie Franceschi from West'n'Fresh for winning the Business Entrepeneur award.
It's always fun to frock up for a night out in the big smoke!
All the best to the winners and finalists this year. We think the Small Business Champion Awards website says it best:
"The Awards seek to acknowledge the hard work that business owners contribute to the local community in generating employment for millions of Australians, as well as their contribution to the Australian economy.
The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is the pinnacle of business success. They recognise the values associated with successful small businesses. These values include service, commitment, leadership, endurance, courage, innovation, performance, persuasion and generosity."
We'll be back next year!
