About Astute Ability

Astute Ability Finance Group was founded by our Managing Director, Mhairi MacLeod in 2000.

Mhairi commenced her finance career at age 19 working in the Motor Trade as a Finance and Insurance Business Manager. However, within 5 years she came to the conclusion that she could provide a better and more comprehensive service outside the confines of a car dealership. This in turn lead to the establishment of the Astute Ability Finance Group.

Mhairi's aim was simple, she wanted to help customers finance the purchase of a broader range of products i.e. not just cars. And she has succeeded. Over the last two decades the business has experienced phonomenal growth by providing commercial, business, equipment, property and technology finance to clients across the nation.

The philosophy at Astute Ability Finance Group has always been to treat customers with care and compassion whilst guiding them through the finance process. The team approaches all customers’ finance needs with a "can do"attitude, rather than an “it’s too hard”attitude that some banks have when customers situations don’t match their one-size-fits-all checklists.

At Astute, we don’t hold anything against the big banks, in fact we use them frequently if their offering suits the need of our customer. And more often than not we get our customer's bank loan approved. We achieve this by providing sufficient background information - giving the banks zero reason to say no.
